Journal Entry, March, 2004:

We left LRW with such a freeing thought!  God loves us on our bad days as much as He does on our good days!

When our speaker ended one of her sessions with that statement, I had to let it sink in a bit.  What a profound word!  There are days when I am not real lovable.  I want to pull the covers high over my head and retreat.  There are days when my PMS wins!  There are days when there are few nerves left to be plucked!  It was so reassuring to hear our speaker tell us that God loves us on our bad days as much as He does on our good days!  I think Matthew 11:28-30 speaks to that fact.

Jesus knew that we would become weary here on earth.  Life is hard and continues to get harder with each passing day.  Jesus knew there would be many ‘bad hair days.’  Jesus knew we’d need a resting place that was safe.  We don’t have to be in a good mood, we don’t have to have our hair brushed or our makeup on.  He gives us rest on the bad days just like He does on the good ones.  He wants to carry our load!  How awesome to know that God loves us right where we are at any given moment on any given day.  There have been so many times I’ve fooled myself into believing that I’ve fooled God into believing I’m doing just fine.  HELLO!  He’s omnipotent Father!  He sees all and knows all!

How freeing it is to come clean and know that He expects us to have bad days!  He wants to hear what is bugging us – all the details.  He wants to give us rest so that we can get a new perspective.

NMgirls:   I tell you ladies, my bad days have taken on a whole new attitude!  I tell God exactly what I’m thinking.  Once I’ve purged myself of all that ugliness, He is free to fill me back up again!  He wants to do the same for you!  I love you so, and I look forward to seeing all of you again next year!
