Title : NMgirls, Part 7

Dated : 03/24/2007

Content:
Journal entry, March, 2004:

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!  And that is what we are!  I John 3:1

Another truth that came out of my LRW is the fact that the world want to talk about God’s love, but not His judgment.

We live in a world where everyone wants to hear the good stuff, but doesn’t want to be bothered with the responsibility of the responsible stuff!  We want to feel good, play hard, live free.  We want it all with little investment.  We want to talk about God’s love, but we don’t want to really talk about what that love means.  It all goes hand in hand.  In order to understand the magnitude of God’s love, we have to understand His judgment.

If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.  Hebrews 10:26-27

I love this verse because it puts the responsibility back where it belongs – on our heads!  God’s judgment is fair and it is certain.  Judgment is what happens after the offering of His love!  Judgment is what happens when we refuse to receive and live the knowledge of the truth.  The truth is Jesus died for our sins so that we may live sinless, blameless lives by simply accepting Him and having relationship with Him.

NMgirls:  Judgment is not what God wants!  He made a supreme sacrifice – His own Son – to keep us from judgment.  We are the ones that make the choice.  We are responsible.  The world goes on about God’s love – do you ever hear the world talk about the price that love cost?  It was the biggest price anyone would ever have to pay, and God found us worth the expense.  It cost Him His Son.
