Scripture for today: Hebrews 10:23-25
Listening for what God wants Nevertheless Ministries to be has been fun at times and scary at other times. I know He called me to write, and I love studying His Word. I figure if one devotional touches one life, God will be glorified.
Several years ago, there were tears and excitement and questions and more tears and bubbling- over-anticipation for the day we’d launch this website. I met with a group of Godly ladies for prayer. Their affirmation was like a physical nod of approval from God. He planted them in my living room so He could use their hands and feet to physically show me that I was hearing Him loud and clear. What a relief! I was given the go-ahead by God to press on!
God will show Himself to you through others too. Do you need a physical nod of acceptance? Do you need a hug? Do you need a wee bit of assurance? We can count on God to meet our needs with great physical power. He will send a loved one, friend or even a complete stranger to supply our physical needs. That hug you got yesterday? From God! That “thank you” you got last week? From God! That casserole someone brought by the house so you didn’t have to cook? From God! That stranger that let you cut in line at the grocery because you only had two items and he had 10? From God! Think about it – He spoke this vast, wonderful earth we live on into being. For that reason, I believe our powerful and mighty God can send a physical hug or two our way. His Word proves His heart’s desire to love on us every day.
Get ready to journal. Write down what God has brought your way physically from other people. Think hard – when you’re not used to thinking this way, it takes a bit of effort to make it a habit. Write down your thoughts and amazement at how unique and personal your physical gifts from God have been – just for you!
Close today in personal prayer. Thank Him for revealing Himself to you through others.
